Actress Andrea Brillantes bid farewell to her character Fatima in ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, leaving fans emotional — and sparking stronger rumors that she may soon transfer to another TV network.

In the recent episode of the top-rating Kapamilya series, Fatima met her tragic end, marking Brillantes’ final appearance alongside lead star Coco Martin. Viewers quickly took to social media to express both sadness and admiration for her intense final scenes, praising her performance as one of her best yet.
Brillantes’ character became a fan favorite for her fierce presence and compelling story arc. Many fans said they were hoping to see her in more action-packed sequences with co-star Maris Racal before her storyline ended.
Despite her character’s death, Brillantes left a lasting impression. “Hindi ko makakalimutan ang eksena na nagsalita ako sa maraming tao… first time kong may ka-kissing scene,” she said in a behind-the-scenes reel shared by Dreamscape Entertainment. “Siyempre tatak ’yon kasi first ’yon na experience for me.”
She also reflected on how she related to Fatima’s struggles: “Madami akong natutunan kay Fatima. Hindi rin kasi ako laking yaman, so naka-relate ako sa kanya na mahirap din talaga ang buhay. Pero kapag alam mong mali at tingin mo kaya mong maitama, ipaglaban mo.”
Brillantes also shared words of encouragement for viewers: “Manood lang sila nang manood, at ang dami pang mangyayari na hindi nila inaasahan. Enjoy the ride. Iiyak kayo, magagalit kayo pero sasaya din kayo — huwag lang mawawalan ng pag-asa.”

Following her character’s exit, talks of Brillantes’ possible transfer to GMA Network have intensified. Industry insiders claim her new management — the same agency handling Bea Alonzo’s career — has been in talks with the Kapuso network for a possible partnership.
Brillantes, a longtime ABS-CBN talent who began her career under Star Magic, has yet to confirm the move. However, her departure from ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ is being viewed by some as a strategic step ahead of a possible major career shift.
Neither GMA Network nor Brillantes’ management has released an official statement as of writing, but fans are eagerly waiting to see whether the young actress — once dubbed as one of ABS-CBN’s brightest homegrown stars — will indeed cross over to the Kapuso camp.
For now, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ continues to air weeknights at 8 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, and Cinemo, and is also available on iWantTFC and TFC worldwide.
