Kapamilya singer-songwriter Maki has publicly apologized to TWICE fans—collectively known as Once—after he and his siblings were called out for standing and obstructing others’ view during the K-pop girl group’s This Is For concert at the Philippine Arena earlier this month.

In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), the ‘Dilaw’ hitmaker said he deeply regretted what happened and assured fans that he has learned from the experience.
“Before this day ends, I just want to tell everyone behind us during the concert that I sincerely apologize also on behalf of my siblings,” he wrote. “If I could go back and undo it, I would. The least thing that I want to happen is to take someone else’s moment during the concert just so we could enjoy. It really wasn’t our intention and we got too excited.”
Maki clarified that it was his and his siblings’ first time attending a K-pop concert where they knew all the songs and choreography, admitting that their excitement got the best of them.
“Not that it’s an excuse, but it really is our first time to this K-pop concert culture experience since we’ve never been in any na we really know all the dance and songs. It was our dream to go there, and I know it’s also yours, too. I’m really sorry,” he said.
“Best believe, next time around, it will not happen again. I promise.”
Following the online backlash, the OPM singer also called for kindness and understanding, reminding fans that mistakes can be corrected through constructive criticism instead of hate.
“Just for the sake of letting everyone know, if we want people to learn from their mistakes, let’s stop calling them names. Rather, to be constructive is the best way to let them learn from their mistakes. Spare my brother on this—it was my fault for not teaching him well. Sorry, Once,” he added.
TWICE held their one-night-only concert in the Philippines on October 4 as part of their This Is For world tour. Member Jeongyeon was notably absent due to health concerns, but thousands of fans still filled the Philippine Arena for the highly anticipated show.
Meanwhile, Maki continues to make waves in the local music scene with hits such as ‘Dilaw,’ ‘Bughaw,’ ‘Saan?,’ and ‘Kahel na Langit.’ His debut album, ‘Kolorcoaster,’ was released on September 19, 2025.
