Joanna Bacosa, mother of aspiring boxer Eman Bacosa Pacquiao, said she has long moved on from her past with former senator and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.

In an interview aired on ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ (KMJS) on November 9, Bacosa said her focus now is on her family and her work as a pastor in Antipas, North Cotabato.
Bacosa said she is happy that her son’s long-standing wish to be publicly recognized by Pacquiao has finally been fulfilled.
“Masaya ako para sa anak ko, pero medyo kabado rin ako kasi hindi ko alam kung ano ang susunod na mangyayari,” she said. “Umaasa akong para sa ikabubuti ito ni Eman at ng lahat.”
She added that she no longer wants issues resurfacing from the past.
“Ayoko na pong magkaisyu… Ang intensiyon ko talaga ay para sa kabutihan ng anak ko. Tungkol sa past, naka-move on na po ako,” Bacosa said, adding that people sometimes create conflict even when there is none.
Eman shared that he and his family lived in Japan for several years while his mother worked there. During that time, Bacosa met her now-husband, Sultan Ramir Diño, who helped raise him and his siblings.
Eman said he is grateful for his father’s acknowledgment but added that he does not let the Pacquiao surname define him.
“Hindi po ako nagpapadala sa pangalan… Ako po si Eman Bacosa Pacquiao,” he said. He added that he uses boxing to honor his mother, saying she raised him with faith and good values. “Ang mama ko, hindi masamang tao. Maka-Diyos po ang mama ko.”
Eman also said he maintains a cordial relationship with Manny Pacquiao’s wife, Jinkee.
“Maayos naman po kami ni Tita Jinkee. Paminsan-minsan nag-uusap naman po kami,” he said.
Bacosa said she prefers to live peacefully with her family and avoid controversy, emphasizing that her only goal is her son’s well-being.
“Ang mahalaga, okay na ang anak ko,” she said. “Lahat ng nangyari, ipinagpapasalamat ko sa Diyos.”
