Asialink helps Filipino MSMEs turn family goals into business growth

Asialink Finance Corporation, one of the Philippines’ leading financial institutions, is aligning its financing programs with the deeply personal motivations of Filipino entrepreneurs. A recent Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) study shows that 64% of MSME owners start a business to provide for their family, 41% to pursue a passion, and 38% to pay for their children’s education – revealing that entrepreneurship in the country is driven as much by personal and family goals as by business ambitions.

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) account for over 99% of registered businesses in the country, yet many still face challenges in accessing formal credit. Asialink’s financing products, including truck and car loans, real estate mortgage, and the Women’s Access to Inclusive Support (WAIS) Loan, are designed not only to grow businesses but also to support the personal aspirations that drive Filipino entrepreneurs.

“MSMEs are critical not only to the economy, but to the lives of millions of Filipino families. Our financing programs are designed to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses while securing their personal and family goals,” said Samuel Cariño, President and CEO of Asialink Finance Corporation.

Smart Financing for Family and Business Goals

Asialink’s financing programs have enabled thousands of micro and small business owners to adapt to rising operational costs and shifting market conditions while achieving personal and family objectives. Across the country, entrepreneurs have used these solutions to invest in assets, expand operations, and strengthen business continuity—helping them provide for their families and pursue long-term aspirations.

Global economic shifts may not affect every individual equally, but rising prices of goods and services often impact household budgets and daily living expenses. Practical, accessible financing allows entrepreneurs to manage both business and personal goals, from scaling operations to funding family needs.

Entrepreneur Joey Kaong stands beside his newly financed delivery truck, which has helped expand and strengthen his trucking operations in Las Piñas City.

In Las Piñas City, Joey Kaong expanded his trucking business through Asialink’s truck financing program. The additional trucks improved logistics efficiency, reduced turnaround times, and strengthened his ability to meet growing customer demand.

“Investing in a truck has elevated the quality and speed of our services. It’s not just a business investment, but is a step toward securing my family’s future,” Kaong said.

Artemio’s newly stocked sari-sari store, made possible through Asialink’s financial support, helps him meet growing customer demand in his community.

Meanwhile, Artemio from Cardona, Rizal also applied for an Asialink loan to fund additional inventory and supplies for his sari-sari store business amid rising supply costs. The financial support allowed him to keep shelves full, serve his community more consistently, and maintain the momentum of his growing business.

“Accessing this kind of financial assistance helped me scale up production and meet demand even in challenging times. It’s been a game changer for my livelihood,” he said.

Janice Mariano utilized one of Asialink’s loans to support her businesses, including a hardware store, salon, and spa. “With Asialink’s help, I was able to secure the foundation of my dream business, empowering me to turn what I love into something that also provides for my family,” she said.

Likewise, Rhea Mon, a woman-led entrepreneur, who availed the WAIS Loan, launched in July 2025, to transform her retail business into a steady income source. “Asialink WAIS Loan truly helped me grow my business. I was able to purchase more stock for my retail products. This not only improved my sales but also allowed me to serve more customers and meet their needs consistently,” she shared.

These stories reflect Asialink’s commitment to expanding access to financing and enabling practical progress—whether that means securing equipment, stabilizing daily operations, or elevating household well-being.

Financial support that accelerates long-term success

Seeking financial support can amplify both personal and business success, particularly during economic uncertainty. Through its range of solutions, Asialink aims to widen access nationwide, helping entrepreneurs meet operational needs while fulfilling family and personal goals.

“Whether it’s for a business expansion, home improvement, or personal investments, providing fast, reliable, and customer-focused financial solutions that truly make a difference can elevate an individual’s drive for success,” emphasized Cariño.

As Asialink continues strengthening its network and product offerings in 2025 and beyond, the company remains committed to enabling MSMEs to grow with confidence in building businesses that uplift not just owners, but entire families and communities.
