ABS-CBN received multiple recognitions, including top wins for Coco Martin and “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” at the first-ever Philippine Academy of Film and Television Arts (PAFTA) Awards for its excellence in storytelling and standout performances of its stars.

The Philippines’ most-watched primetime series, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” took home the Best Drama Series award, while its lead star, Primetime King Coco Martin, was named Best Drama Actor. Maris Racal, meanwhile, received the Breakthrough Performance Award for her role as “Ponggay” in the series.

The popular noontime program “It’s Showtime” also emerged as the Best Noontime Show, while Anne Curtis was recognized as the Best Female TV Host.

“Pinoy Big Brother 2.0” won Best Reality Show, while the Philippines’ longest-running noontime variety program, “ASAP,” was recognized as Best Variety Show.

ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. (Star Cinema) earned the Producer of the Year title. At the same time, Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo was honored as the Philippine Box Office Star for her record-breaking film, “Hello, Love, Again.”

Rising Kapamilya star Kai Montinola, meanwhile, was also the recipient of the PAFTA Youth Icon Award.

The Philippine Academy of Film and Television Arts (PAFTA) honors excellence and individual distinctions, and helps elevate Filipino creativity locally and internationally.
