Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro admitted she felt overwhelmed as her latest project, 58th, premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2026.
De Castro is currently in the Netherlands for select screenings of the animated docu-film produced by GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures, which revisits the tragic Maguindanao Massacre.

In a social media post, the actress shared her emotions after watching the film for the first time at the festival.
“This was the very first time I watched our film, and honestly, I was so nervous. We shot all of our scenes with minimal practical props and relied mostly on our imagination to envision everything. But seeing it all come together—the animation, the actual footage, and the way the story was retold—made me really proud to be part of this project,” she wrote.
De Castro added that the experience was even more meaningful as she watched the film alongside fellow Filipinos based in the Netherlands.
“It was also meaningful to watch it with fellow Filipinos who have been living here, and although it was a sad event, it reminded all of us that we should never stop questioning and never lose hope. What an incredible first film festival experience!”
In 58th, Glaiza portrays Reynafe Castillo, the daughter of missing photojournalist Reynaldo “Bebot” Momay, a role played by the late Ricky Davao. The film blends animation and archival footage to retell stories connected to the massacre, offering a reflective and emotionally charged narrative.
The screening also marks the first time GMA Network has participated in the prestigious Rotterdam-based international film festival, a milestone for the Philippine broadcaster and film industry.
