Quality, Taste, and Value: Creating the “Much Malaki, Much Pinasarap” Chicken McDo

Fried chicken is a Filipino favorite. In fact, most Pinoys have very strong opinions and preferences when it comes to fried chicken, as they consistently go for the option that ticks all the boxes when it comes to quality, taste, and value.

Knowing that the most discerning customer deserves only the best, McDonald’s Philippines has introduced the “Much Malaki, Much Pinasarap” Chicken McDo, reflecting the company’s commitment to delivering consistently high-quality products and feel-good experiences. The Chicken McDo brings together all the qualities that fried chicken lovers always look for—great flavor, bigger size, consistent crispiness and juiciness with every bite, and fantastic value for money at only PhP99 with rice and drinks. Truly this is something both loyal fans and new customers will enjoy.

“Filipinos are fried chicken connoisseurs at heart, and we take that fact very seriously,” said Ada Lazaro, McDonald’s Philippines Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “This is why our team works doubly hard to make sure that the Chicken McDo is a full sensory delight—living up to customer expectations on taste, smell, and sight—without sacrificing affordability.”

The quality journey, from supplier to customer

Long before an order of Chicken McDo reaches a customer, the journey begins with a trusted network of chicken suppliers, who all share McDonald’s Philippines’ commitment to quality and consistency. Each approved chicken supplier undergoes a meticulous Quality Assurance Accreditation Process, in accordance with McDonald’s Global Standards.

By the time it reaches the kitchen, each chicken piece is carefully prepared to meet the “Much Malaki, Much Pinasarap” Chicken McDo specification and handled in line with McDonald’s established food safety and quality practices.

Across McDonald’s Philippines’ network of 800-plus stores nationwide, rigorously trained Chicken McDo Experts are always on the lookout to ensure consistency in taste and quality. They go the extra mile to guarantee that every Chicken McDo meets the Gold Standard—correct size, freshly and correctly breaded, and cooked at the right temperature.

Said Lazaro: “Our Chicken McDo Experts know exactly what to look for, and if something isn’t up to standard, it won’t be served. That’s how serious we are about the quality of our Chicken McDo.”

Completing the Chicken McDo experience

While the chicken itself is the star, all other components of the dish must play their part in delivering the full Chicken McDo experience. The rice must be freshly cooked, and the gravy must be savory and rich—and customers can expect to experience this consistently, at any store, any time.

And the best part? The price stays just as satisfying. As McDonald’s Philippines continues to elevate quality, it also remains committed to delivering strong value to customers. For only ₱99, customers can already enjoy a much sulit and satisfying 1-pc. Chicken McDo with rice and a drink.

40 years of mastering chicken

Since McDonald’s Philippines Chairman and Founder Dr. George T. Yang brought the brand to the country, he has always been passionate about serving the unique and discerning tastes of Filipinos. From McDonald’s early years in the country, Dr. Yang recognized the importance of offering a menu that would truly delight local customers and keep them coming back for more.

The Chicken McDo, which was introduced in the menu in 1986, reflects Dr. Yang’s vision of providing customers a QSR experience tailored to Filipino preferences while still delivering the feel-good moments that customers around the world associate with McDonald’s.

Dr. Yang recalled: “I was trained in McDonald’s Hong Kong where I learned the fundamentals of food quality and operations. I brought the best practices with me here, but I also knew we needed to listen to Filipinos and introduce a product they would enjoy. That has always been my top priority. And today, we stay committed to delivering the best Chicken McDo to Filipinos by continuously improving its taste and quality.”

Added Lazaro: “For 40 years, McDonald’s Philippines has stayed true to Dr. Yang’s quest to provide Filipinos the best-tasting fried chicken. And now that the Chicken McDo is Much Malaki at Much Pinasarap, we remain committed to providing our customers a truly great fried chicken experience.”

The Much Malaki, Much Pinasarap Chicken McDo is available across all McDonald’s stores nationwide via dine-in, take-out, drive-thru, and delivery. For more information, visit McDonalds.com.ph, or follow @McDo.ph on Facebook, and @McDo_ph on Instagram.
