Kapuso viewers can soon look forward to a new family drama infused with music as ‘Born to Shine’ prepares to air on GMA Afternoon Prime.
The upcoming series centers on emotions, family relationships, and the pursuit of dreams, with music driving much of the storytelling. It will be directed by Rod Marmol.
The series is headlined by Zephanie Dimaranan and Michael Sager.
Michael takes on the role of Nate Lim, a reserved and quiet celebrity—a character far removed from his real-life personality. Zephanie, meanwhile, portrays Jenny Sikat, an aspiring singer who faces numerous challenges on her journey toward fulfilling her dreams.
The two previously worked together in the Kapuso series ‘Luv Is: Caught in His Arms’.
Joining them in Born to Shine are Olive May, Manilyn Reynes, Vina Morales, Smokey Manaloto, Tina Paner, and Roselle Nava.
The series also features new Sparkle artists Naya Ambi, Mitzi Josh, Gaea Mischa, and Miggs Cuaderno.
During a story conference held on November 22, Zephanie, Michael, and the rest of the cast expressed their excitement for the project and its music-driven narrative.
Michael is also known as one of the housemates in ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 1.0’. He previously starred in the vertical series ‘A Masked Billionaire Stole My Heart’ alongside Ysabel Ortega, as well as in his self-produced film ‘Opposites Almost Attract with AZ Martinez.
Zephanie, on the other hand, previously appeared in ‘Mga Batang Riles’ and ‘MAKA’.
‘Born to Shine’ is set to premiere soon on GMA Afternoon Prime.
