The GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) has extended assistance to communities affected not only by recent natural disasters but also by the continuing rise in fuel prices, which has significantly impacted livelihoods across the country.
Under its Operation Bayanihan program, the foundation traveled to Bauko, Mountain Province to distribute food packs to vegetable farmers who have struggled to sell their produce due to high transportation costs. A total of 1,000 families, or around 4,000 individuals, received assistance.
GMAKF also reached out to residents of Cardona, Rizal, where fisherfolk and tricycle drivers have similarly been affected by the surge in petroleum prices. The initiative provided food packs to 900 families, benefiting approximately 3,600 individuals.
The foundation continues to call for support from the public to sustain its relief efforts. Donations may be made through its official website to help more communities facing economic challenges.
