The first full-length movie pairing of JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith is showing strong box-office potential after ‘Almost Us’ reportedly earned more than P5 million on its first day of screening nationwide.

Producer Regal Entertainment proudly shared the film’s opening-day earnings on its official social media accounts while thanking supporters of the JMFyang love team.
“Dahil sa walang sawang suporta nyo, we’re opening MORE CINEMAS nationwide para mas marami pang nakakilig, masasaktan at mapapaamin,” Regal posted.
“Ramdam na ramdam namin ang pagmamahal nyo sa bawat tili, tawa, iyak inside the cinema,” the production company added.
Following the strong opening-day turnout, additional cinemas were reportedly added to accommodate moviegoers.
The film’s performance also sparked reactions online, with many netizens expressing surprise over the box-office numbers achieved by the relatively new tandem.
Meanwhile, the film’s premiere night at SM Megamall reportedly drew a packed crowd, with fans reacting loudly to the romantic scenes between JM and Fyang.
Producer Roselle Monteverde was also reportedly pleased with the positive feedback from viewers who attended the screening.
One of the most talked-about moments in the movie involved the kissing scenes between the lead stars, which reportedly triggered loud cheers, screams, and applause inside the cinema.
Fyang’s father, Joshua Smith, was also asked about the intimate scenes involving his daughter.
According to him, he was not surprised since Fyang had already talked to him several times about the kissing scenes with JM.
Directed by Dan Villegas, ‘Almost Us’ is currently showing in cinemas nationwide and is now being projected by supporters to become a possible blockbuster hit.
