At just 19 years old, rising singer-songwriter Isha Ponti is steadily carving out her place in the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) scene with the release of her latest album, ‘Likas’—a deeply personal collection of songs that explores love, growth, healing, and self-acceptance.
More than just an album, ‘Likas’ serves as an emotional journey inspired by Isha’s own life experiences. The title itself represents five key themes that shape the record: Longing, Illusion, Kindness, Acceptance, and Self-love.
“It’s about me, my own experiences concerning love, dreams, and heartaches. It’s my story,” Isha shared.
Written entirely by the young artist, ‘Likas’ showcases her songwriting abilities and commitment to authenticity. Helping bring her vision to life is acclaimed musical director and producer Adonis Tabanda, who collaborated with Isha on the album’s musical arrangements and overall sound.
The 10-track album blends contemporary OPM with heartfelt storytelling and includes the songs ‘Darating’, ‘Numero’, ‘Hinga’, ‘Kabanata’, ‘Halika’, ‘Warmth’, ‘Gulong’, ‘Bakas’, ‘Riversky’, and ‘Mismo’.
Among the album’s standout tracks is ‘Kabanata’, a song inspired by Isha’s first love and first heartbreak.
“Someone came into my life and I thought he was the one,” she recalled. “Even if it was a painful memory, I learned a lot and it helped me grow into a better person.”
Another notable track, ‘Bakas’, reflects on the lingering memories left behind by a past relationship, while the rest of the album explores different stages of emotional growth and self-discovery.
Through ‘Likas’, Isha hopes listeners who have experienced similar struggles will find comfort, healing, and inspiration.
The album has been described as an “emotional sanctuary,” offering a safe space for listeners to reflect on their own journeys while connecting with the artist’s honest storytelling.
As Filipino music continues to gain a stronger presence on the global stage, Isha is emerging as one of the promising voices of her generation—an artist determined to create meaningful music that resonates with audiences both in the Philippines and abroad.
To celebrate the album’s release, Isha will hold a special launch event, Isha Ponti: Likas, on June 20, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Viva Cafe. The event is expected to feature special guests and an evening of music, storytelling, and celebration under the musical direction of Adonis Tabanda.
Adding to her growing list of achievements, Isha has been nominated at the 17th Star Awards for Music in the New Female Recording Artist category, while her song ‘CHRISTmas With You’ earned a nomination for Christmas Song of the Year.
Looking ahead, the young artist has expressed interest in collaborating with some of OPM’s most respected performers, including Sarah Geronimo, Yeng Constantino, Janine Tenoso, and Maki.
