Kapuso actress Klea Pineda called out a disturbing and hateful message she received from a netizen on social media.

In a Facebook MyDay post on Tuesday, May 26, Klea shared a screenshot of the malicious message sent to her, which contained a rape threat and insulting remarks.
The actress expressed disappointment over how some people have become too comfortable using harmful and violent language online.
“I’m already used to criticism being thrown at me at this point, but some people are getting way too comfortable with their words,” Klea wrote.
She also emphasized that nobody deserves to be subjected to such kinds of remarks.
“Nobody deserves to be on the receiving end of jokes like this,” she added.
While Klea did not mention any legal action or next steps against the sender, her post quickly gained attention online and drew support from fans and fellow members of the entertainment industry.
Following the incident, Sparkle GMA Artist Center released an official statement expressing support for the actress and condemning hateful messages and threats.
“Sparkle advocates for safety, dignity, and kindness for all. We do not condone acts of hate and intimidation and reaffirm our commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all our artists,” the statement read.
Sparkle also stated: “Sparkle stands with Klea Pineda in the face of unacceptable threats.”
The management agency further emphasized that hateful messages only contribute to fear and discrimination.
Meanwhile, the production behind the queer film ‘Open Endings’, where Klea previously appeared, also issued a statement supporting the actress and condemning threats of sexual violence.
“Threats of sexual violence are never a joke, never acceptable, and never something that should be normalized especially against members of the LGBTQIA+ community, who continue to face harassment, discrimination, and violence simply for existing openly and truthfully,” the statement read.
The group added: “Klea deserves safety, dignity, and protection. So does every queer person.”
Klea has since reposted the statement on Instagram.
Aside from her local projects, the actress is currently working on her first international film, which is being co-produced by Alden Richards and US producers.
