Willie Revillame strongly denied the allegations made by a supposed former production intern who claimed that staff and interns were allegedly prohibited from looking at, approaching, or speaking to him while working on ‘Wowowin’.
During a live episode of ‘Wilyonaryo’ on Tuesday, May 6, the veteran host addressed the controversy and called out the circulating accusations on social media.
“Marami nang lumalabas sa social media na paninira. Huwag po kayong maniniwala dyan na bawal raw akong tignan. Una, hindi ko po alam na OJT o mayroon naka-intern dyan na mga estudyante. Hindi ko po alam yan,” Willie said.
He explained that the reason people rarely crossed paths with him backstage was because his dressing room area in GMA Network studios was already part of the backstage section.
“Kaya huwag po kayong maniniwala na bawal akong tignan o ano. Siraulo tong batang to. Gustong sumikat. Pati ako gagamitin n’yo? Paanong bawal akong tignan e lahat nga ng makikita ko niloloko ko, binibiro ko,” he added.
Willie also denied knowing the individual who allegedly shared the story online.
“Alam mo ikaw, bata ka pa, siraulo ka na. Minsan mabubwisit ka na lang sa mga fake news na ito e. Hindi nga namin kilala to… Never ho naming nakita ‘yan sa GMA,” he said.
The television host expressed frustration that negative issues surfaced just as Wowowin was preparing for its return.
“Babalik lang ang Wowowin, sisiraan n’yo pa ako. Babalik ho ang Wowowin para makatulong sa mga kababayan sa hirap ng buhay ngayon. Gumagawa na nga ng paraan e,” Willie stated.
He also directly challenged the alleged former intern to personally face him.
“Pumunta ka rito, magpakilala ka sa akin at mag-one on one tayo. Sabihin mo sa akin kung kailan kita nakita. Gagawa ka ng isang istorya para sumikat ka? Gagawa ka ng istorya para makilala ka? Paglalaruan mo ‘yung tao?” he said.
Willie further reminded social media users to use online platforms responsibly and not spread misinformation.
“Huwag n’yong gagamitin ‘yan para makapanira kayo ng ibang tao,” he emphasized.
The controversy stemmed from statements allegedly shared by stand-up comedian Dex Conche during a podcast interview, where he recalled his supposed internship experience on Willie’s program and claimed interns were instructed not to look directly at the host.
