Actress, fashion icon, and socialite Heart Evangelista candidly admitted that she once felt like a “sugar mommy” in a past relationship.
The revelation came during her guest appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, where she was asked about dating, generosity, and whether she had ever spent heavily on a romantic partner.
Heart immediately admitted that she has always been generous when it comes to the people she loves.
“Lagi akong gumagastos,” she said with a laugh. “Sira ako sa lalaki. That’s my language of love. That’s always been my language of love.”
She explained that giving has always been her way of expressing affection.
“I’m very, very giving. I’m very generous,” she added.
However, Heart recalled one former boyfriend who made her question whether her generosity was being appreciated or simply taken advantage of.
“But I did have one boyfriend that I felt that he was not too prop. I didn’t like. There was something that left a bad taste in my mouth. Just one. I won’t say who,” she shared.
“Parang ganyan. I felt like I’m a sugar mommy.”
When host Boy Abunda jokingly asked for clues about the mystery ex, Heart refused to reveal his identity.
“He’s really good-looking. But they’re all good-looking,” she quipped.
Despite her experience, Heart said she holds no resentment toward the former boyfriend and even tried to understand his situation.
“Mabait naman. Baka kailangan lang talaga niya. Extra help,” she said.
“Use and abuse me, charot!” she added jokingly.
The actress also reflected on how maturity has changed her perspective on relationships. While she remains generous by nature, she has learned to balance her emotions and make wiser decisions.
Discussing dating etiquette, Heart said she still believes men should generally pay during romantic dates.
“Pag lalaki, oo naman… yes,” she said.
At the same time, she noted that she has no problem paying when she is the one inviting people out, especially among friends.
“Pero kapag kunwari sa pagkakaibigan, I feel like [ako na ang magbabayad] because I like to host. That’s me,” she explained.
Over the years, Heart has been linked to several high-profile personalities, including John Prats, Jericho Rosales, Ian Dy, and Daniel Matsunaga. Today, Heart has been happily married for more than a decade to Francis Escudero, better known as Chiz Escudero.
