PlayTime CARES, the corporate social responsibility arm of PlayTime Entertainment, guided by its defining mission to “Give with Heart,” swiftly mobilized to reach and assist families besieged by the sudden calamity in the immediate aftermath of the powerful earthquake that shook the Davao region.
PlayTime Entertainment, through its CSR arm PlayTime CARES, partnered up with TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation to mobilize urgent relief for earthquake-stricken Davao region. The company donated ruckloads of grocery packages and essentials that the victims needed as soon as possible. Representing PlayTime CARES during the turnover was Ms. PlayTime Digital 2025 Ann De Mesa alongside Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc. (AKFI) executive director, Menchie Silvestre.
PlayTime CARES hastened its deployment pipelines, working hand-in-hand with the Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI), the trusted socio-humanitarian arm of TV5 recognizing that the hours following a major disaster are critical. Together, the two organizations bypassed logistical gridlocks to deliver rapid financial aid and vital on-ground relief to communities struggling in the wake of the seismic destruction.
The company turned over PHP 1.1 Million worth of groceries and other essentials delivered by several trucks to AKFI that will be distributed to the hardest-hit municipalities.
Understanding that survival is tied to immediate, comforting care, relief teams rushed mobile kitchens into the heart of affected areas. PlayTime CARES and AKFI also successfully nourished more than 1,000 displaced families, providing sustenance and solidarity to residents enduring the emotional and physical strain of the disaster through a mobile kitchen serving hot meals.
“When a calamity of this scale strikes, every minute matters. Our immediate instinct was to move as fast as possible to reach our brothers and sisters in Davao who were suddenly left vulnerable, with the help of TV5’s Alagang Kapatid. Bringing a warm meal and reliable support to over a thousand families is about letting them know they are not alone during this period of recovery,” shared Ms. PlayTime Digital 2025 Anne De Mesa, who represented the company during the turnover of the relief goods to AKFI’s headquarters.
The joint force navigated the compromised terrain to reach remote pockets of the region that bore the brunt of the earthquake at the earliest possible schedule thanks to AKFI’s established emergency networks.
