Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza is showing a bolder and edgier side in Regal Entertainment’s upcoming comedy film ‘Saving Cherry’, where she plays a newlywed woman dealing with an unfaithful husband.

During the film’s grand media conference at Gateway Cineplex in Quezon City on Aug. 3, Forteza surprised members of the entertainment press with both her glamorous look and her playful, uninhibited personality—qualities she said reflect her character, Cherry.
One of the film’s memorable lines, delivered by Forteza’s character, leaves no room for ambiguity about her stance on infidelity.
“Do cheaters deserve a second chance? F_ck, NO!”
When the cast was asked about their dream weddings, Forteza drew laughs with her witty response.
“Dream wedding ko? I wanna get married in Vegas. In Vera Wang. Para may divorce.”
Although she admitted she has a “wild side,” Forteza clarified that her boldness during the press conference was largely influenced by the role she portrays in the movie.
‘Saving Cherry’ follows Cherry, a newlywed who catches her husband, played by Khalil Ramos, cheating, setting off a comedy filled with friendship, revenge, and self-discovery.
Joining Forteza are Sassa Gurl, Mika Salamanca, Mikee Quintos, and AC Bonifacio, who portray Cherry’s close-knit circle of friends.

During the same press conference, the actresses also shared their personal visions of their dream weddings.
Sassa Gurl, who noted that same-sex marriage is still not legally recognized in the Philippines, said she dreams of a simple ceremony.
“Feel ko, dream wedding ko… I think a simple wedding will do. Basta mahal ko lang talaga ‘yung papakasalan ko.”
Salamanca said she prefers an intimate celebration attended only by her closest loved ones.
“Ako po, sa ngayon, yung gusto ko na wedding is private po talaga. Ayoko ng may ibang tao. Yung mga super-close ko lang po talaga.”
Quintos echoed the sentiment, saying she also hopes for a simple destination wedding.
“I’ve always wanted something simple… kasi pinagdadasal ko naman, asawa muna bago ikasal, di ba?”
Meanwhile, Bonifacio said she simply wants to celebrate with family and friends, regardless of where the wedding takes place.
“As long as it’s a good husband, a good guy… and my family is there, I’m good. Basta puwede akong sumayaw, good music, good food.”
Directed by Ivan Andrew Payawal, ‘Saving Cherry’ also stars JC Alcantara, Joey Marquez, Kokoy de Santos, Almira Muhlach, Monina Lawrence, and Than Perez.
The film opens in cinemas nationwide on Sept. 2.
