Bianca De Vera dismissed the long-standing misconception that she is a “spoiled brat,” while Esnyr reflected on rebuilding himself after heartbreak, as the two Star Magic artists opened up about life beyond the spotlight during the Star Magic Spotlight Press Conference.
Speaking candidly before members of the entertainment media, the longtime friends share how public perception has often failed to reflect their personal journeys. Alongside updates on their latest and upcoming projects, they shared how friendship, personal growth, and life experiences continue to shape both their careers and the people they are away from the cameras.
One of the most candid moments of the press conference came when Bianca addressed the assumption that she grew up privileged and dependent on her family.
“I feel like it’s a misconception because only child ako,” Bianca said. “I pay for all of my bills–gas, food, groceries, lahat-lahat ng bills. Although kaya nila (parents), but they don’t do it because gusto nila lumaki ako ng independent”
She shares that becoming financially independent has taught her responsibility and hopes that people will look beyond first impressions and get to know who she really is.
Esnyr, meanwhile, talks about a more personal chapter of his life, revealing that he has chosen to focus on rebuilding himself after heartbreak by pouring his energy into his work.
“This is the season of my life to rebuild myself, to pour the love na sa art ko, sa craft ko, more than i-boost ko siya sa pagmamahal sa maling tao” he said. “I don’t want to lose myself, I don’t want to lose the heart that I pour in everything that I do”
He also reflects on the pressure with consistently creating content while pursuing acting and hosting opportunities, saying he hopes people remember him not for a single viral moment but for his commitment to continuous growth.
“I don’t want to be remembered saisang success lang. I want to be remembered as someone who’s continuously striving and doing his best.”
Beyond their individual journeys, the pair credited their friendship for helping them navigate both personal and professional challenges. Bianca recalled standing by Esnyr during one of the lowest points in his life, while Esnyr shared that Bianca remained one of the few people who never treated him differently despite their growing careers.
“I hope you never change,” Bianca told Esnyr, describing him as one of the most genuine people she knows.
The two also looked back on working together in The Secrets of Hotel 88, saying that their friendship translated naturally on screen and made long shooting days easier. Asked about future collaborations, Bianca shared that she hopes to star in a romantic comedy with Esnyr someday, while Esnyr said he would like to play rivals to explore a different dynamic as actors.
The artists also shared updates on their upcoming projects. Bianca is set to hold her first and sold out fan concert with Dustin Yu on August 8, while Esnyr invited viewers to watch Hello Outside World, his new hosting project with Bianca Gonzalez.
