Kapuso actress Mika Salamanca revealed that she was cheated on twice by a former boyfriend, admitting she stayed in the relationship despite the repeated betrayals because of how deeply she loved.

The actress opened up about her painful past during the grand media conference for Regal Entertainment’s upcoming film ‘Saving Cherry’, where the cast discussed love, forgiveness, and second chances.

The film stars Barbie Forteza, Khalil Ramos, Mikee Quintos, Sassa Gurl, AC Bonifacio, JC Alcantara, and Salamanca under the direction of Ivan Andrew Payawal.

When asked whether she believes in giving a second chance to someone who has been unfaithful, Salamanca gave an emphatic answer.

“No! No talaga. Kasi, kapag nag-cheat talagang may lamat na, e. Hindi mo na maibabalik ‘yung tiwala. And magsa-suffer lang ‘yung relationship. So, it’s a big NO!”

Despite her firm stance now, Salamanca admitted she once stayed in a relationship even after her then-boyfriend cheated on her twice.

Asked about the craziest thing she had ever done for love, the actress revealed that she even gave up her U.S. permanent residency.

“When I love kasi, I love hard. And one crazy thing I did for love is yung iniwan ko… I surrendered my green card for (that person).”

She then disclosed that she endured repeated infidelity.

“And yung isa pa, siguro I stayed din kahit nag-cheat siya ng dalawang beses! Du’n sa bestfriend niya tsaka du’n sa ex niya!!!”

Salamanca also shared an update on her rumored romance with fellow Sparkle artist Will Ashley, though she stopped short of officially confirming their relationship.

Asked about their current status, the actress responded with a smile.

“You mean, the real score? I would say it’s high! Actually, our relationship is getting deeper.”

She praised Ashley for consistently pursuing her since they both left Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.

“I’m getting to know him better in the passing of days. You know, Will is someone who’s very consistent with me after PBB. Until now, he’s very consistent in pursuing me. On my part, I’m strongly considering what with all the efforts he’s been exerting.”

While they have yet to define their relationship publicly, Salamanca said they have become much closer.

“We’re very, very close at this point. He’s been consistently pursuing me, and I appreciate it so much. Let’s see in the coming days.”

In a separate interview with YouLOL, Salamanca was asked whether she believes in “true love waits” or “strike while the iron is hot.”

She chose the former.

“True love waits. Everything that’s burning will burn fast. Everything that’s hot burns fast. Parang ganoon.”

Ashley agreed, saying he believes love should never be rushed.

“Feeling ko talaga ‘di dapat minamadali ang love, e. Dapat love waits. Kumbaga, perfect timing. Darating at darating ‘yan para sa iyo,” he said.

‘Saving Cherry’ is Regal Entertainment’s latest drama film and is set to bring together an ensemble cast led by Forteza and Ramos.
