That same community of Toyota lovers across the country is a key reason for the success of TMP’s latest event, the Toyota Legacy Experience, where enthusiasts of the brand came together for a three-day celebration of Toyota’s heritage and legacy. Eton City Square was filled with a diverse crowd; however, their love for Toyota heritage brought them together for a weekend of celebrating the thrill and joy of moving together.

Built on Adventure and for the Community
One of the many Toyota car clubs present at the event, Hilux Club Philippines (HCP), shares that what began in 2011 as a small group of enthusiasts has grown into one of the country’s most active Toyota communities. While off-road adventures and camping trips remain at the heart of the club, members have also built a culture centered on friendship, family, and service through outreach programs and community activities.
For HCP core member JC Diaz and head Twyford Ong, shared that while HCP often came together for their shared love of the vehicle and to tackle the off-road with their Hiluxes, it is the community the Hilux has created that ultimately made them stay for many years. “Hilux Club Philippines is more than just a group of Hilux owners. We enjoy off-roading, camping, helping communities, and spending time together as friends and families. I joined because of my love for the Hilux, but I stayed because of the people and the friendships we built through the years,” shared Diaz.
Ong echoed the same sentiment, reflecting on how the organization has evolved into a close-knit community. “We don’t just go on trail drives. We also organize outreach activities, help communities, and support one another. What keeps me going is seeing members build friendships, bring their families along, and use their Hiluxes to make a positive difference.”
Across every generation of the Hilux, members continue to celebrate the vehicle’s toughness, capability, and dependability. Yet for many, the friendships built through the club and their shared love for the car have become just as meaningful as the vehicle itself.

A Legacy Ingrained in Filipino Culture
For the Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines (LCCP), the Land Cruiser represents more than an iconic vehicle—it embodies a legacy of resilience, service, and family. For LCCP head Gerald Lim, the Land Cruiser legacy is deeply personal and has ingrained itself in his family’s history.
“For me, owning a Land Cruiser is not just about possessing a vehicle; it is an inseparable part of my identity and a living testament to my family’s history. Since the day I was born, a Land Cruiser has always been present in our household. I grew up witnessing my father drive the iconic 40 Series, which eventually paved the way for other legendary models in our garage, including the LC 70 FRP, the BJ44, the 80 Series, and other models. The Land Cruiser has played the biggest role in my life. It represents reliability, resilience, and a legacy passed down from my father. Today, it defines my lifestyle, allowing me to serve others through charitable work with the Land Cruiser Club Of The Philippines and providing critical aid during calamities where “roads are not required.” Owning a Land Cruiser means carrying forward a tradition of strength, capability, and purpose,” said Lim.
Lim also added that he is hopeful that the next generation carries the Land Cruiser legacy forward into the future. He wishes that the future generation understands that the Land Cruiser is not just a car that brings you to places, but a car that can do much more for not only the owner but also the people and communities that surround the owner.
“I hope the next generation carries this legacy forward by understanding that a Land Cruiser is built for a purpose which is to explore the world, protect the family, and extend a helping hand to communities in need, anytime and anywhere,” added Lim

Communities that go Beyond Ownership
While every Toyota club has its own identity, they all share a common purpose: bringing people together. For FJ Cruiser Owners Philippines (FJCOP), the community has become a trusted platform where enthusiasts exchange maintenance tips, modification ideas, travel experiences, and technical advice while inspiring one another to make the most of the FJ ownership experience. The club has also earned recognition from fellow enthusiasts around the world for the quality of FJ builds coming from the Philippine scene.
According to Francis Edward Ayala, the club has always been about creating meaningful relationships among owners. “Our community allows owners to connect with others who share the same passion. Beyond the vehicles themselves, we build friendships, share knowledge, organize activities, and help one another get the most out of ownership.”
Looking ahead, Ayala believes Toyota’s expanding SUV lineup presents an opportunity to welcome even more enthusiasts while continuing the culture of camaraderie the club has built over the years.

Beyond model-specific clubs, Grupo Toyota brings together different enthusiasts from across Toyota’s diverse lineup. Rather than centering on a single vehicle, the community celebrates the relationships that unite owners regardless of what they drive through gatherings, outreach activities, and collaborations with fellow Toyota clubs.
For Robert Tan, those relationships are what define the community, highlighting a common trait among Toyota car clubs of being able to be brought together by the shared love of Toyota but also forming meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals. “It’s the relationship that has been developed throughout the years,” he shared.
He also believes that being a Toyota owner goes beyond simply owning a dependable vehicle but also helping out and respecting fellow Filipino car enthusiasts. “The quintessential Toyota owner is always willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow car enthusiast. True Toyota enthusiasts have no prejudice, and we welcome and respect everyone who shares their passion.”
