“American Idol Season 7” icon David Archuleta expressed his gratitude to the hospitality and the warm accommodation in the Philippines. After three weeks of shooting TV5‘s newest miniserye, “Nandito Ako“, David passionately sung the theme song that led the crowd cheer for minutes during the Grand Press Conference at Meralco Fitness Center in Pasig.

Hosted by TV5 Aksyon’s Lia Cruz, the event started with the unveiling of the full trailer of the new drama with the “American Idol.” “Nandito Ako” stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Eula Caballero with veteran actresses Aiko Melendez, Gelli De Belen, Ana Feleo, Joseph Bitangcol, Ana Capri, Alwyn Uytingco, Mon Confiado, RS Francisco, David Bianco, Byron Ortile and Ms. Perla Bautista.

We all remember the song originally sung by Ogie Alcasid popularized by Thalia and Lea Salonga and today the Filipinos will not just revive the melody and the song with a famous American Idol performing a heartfelt rendition. David Archuleta will make more Filipinos proud of their culture with the highly anticipated primetime program, “Nandito Ako” soon.

At the Q and A, G. Toengi shared what got her busy in the United States for a few years. Tending to two children and studying Film at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), she was able to finish producing, directing and publishing in Youtube her first film, “Pinoy Grease” and she was actually convinced to return to the Philippines from a celebrity friend who sent messages in Facebook.

Gelli De Belen and Aiko Melendez were also asked if they have done a real-life experience of spanking during a fight since they’ve been close friends for the longest time. The hot seat was on Jasmine Curtis-Smith who was amiable explaining on the rumor if they have developed a more-than-friends relationship with David Archuleta after his surprise attendance at sister Anne Curtis‘ concert, “Anne-bisyosa“.

David Archuleta shared her admiration for Anne Curtis. “I have so much awe at Anne who believed to always “follow your dream”. He said that it’s one of the best experiences he had so far staying in the Philippines especially the warm and caring Filipino cast he revered “became my family”. He felt “at home” and “it’s exactly what I needed in a way”.

What would David play in “Nandito Ako“? The story unveiled from the AVP shown during the presscon is about David Archuleta (as Josh Bradley) who is an international singer holding his final leg of concerts in the Philippines and bumps into a circumstance with Jasmine Curtis-Smith (Anya) and Eula Caballero (Holly). He will look for his mom who abandoned him (G Toengi) and will meet Holly through one of the promotional activities of his concert. Anya (Jasmine Curtis-Smith) will cross his path at the beginning of his quest to find his real identity by accident. I am curious whether he’d fall for Anya (Jasmine Curtis-Smith) or Holly (Eula Caballero) so we should start tuning in to TV5 after “Wil Time Bigtime” starting on February 20!
