JM de Guzman is the leading man of ABS-CBN’s upcoming drama series Precious Hearts Romances: Araw Gabi. Apparently, it was unexpected that several actresses will audition and aspires to be JM’s leading lady.
A total of 8 lovely ABS-CBN actresses were spotted auditioning to play the role of the character Michelle in this adaptation of a Precious Hearts Romances novel. The debate whether they love to work with JM or they’re just an avid fan of the novel is still unclear.
The audition happened last August 2017. The actresses who tried their luck on the first round of auditions include Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash 2010 big winner and Ginebra San Miguel’s latest calendar girl Myrtle Sarrosa and Pinoy Big Brother 737 housemate Barbie Imperial.
It seems that the GirlTrends group are fighting over in being the leading lady of this series. Former GirlTrends member Kelley Day auditioned for this role, but it’s obvious that she is not able to win the role since she will be transferring to GMA 7 this 2018. Current GirlTrends member Chienna Filomino also tried to snatch the role hoping that this will be her first mature role in her entire career. Dawn Chang, also a member of the all-girl group, also auditioned.
Other actresses who auditioned are Star Magic talent Erin Ocampo, 2nd runner-up at Miss Intercontinental project in 2014 Kris Janson, the singer Mica Javier, and Metro Manila Film Festival 2015 Best Supporting Actress Phoebe Walker.
In the end, Barbie Imperial won the role of being JM de Guzman’s leading lady. Phoebe Walker, although unsuccessful, will still be a part of the Araw Gabi set as one of the supporting characters.

It is based on Martha Cecilia’s novel El Paraiso. This is not the first time the author’s work is made into a TV series. Famous short TV series was also based on her novels such as Impostor, Alyna, Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin, Kristine and Midnight Phantom.
Araw Gabi will premiere in ABS-CBN in April 2018.
