Celine Dion’s concert is happening in Manila this coming July 2018. It will be a two-night concert, and many are wondering if a duet with Jake Zyrus will be happening.
10 years ago, Celine Dion had a duet with Jake Zyrus when he was still Charice Pempengco, and his talent was considered world-class.
Jake Zyrus said that he would have to beg Celine Dion to make her want to have a duet. “Kapag naiisip ko ‘yon, ang dami kong nakikitang new belters out there, na sobrang nakikita ko ‘yung bright future nila. Minsan nai-imagine ko kung ano ‘yung nararamdaman ko noon, when I was that kid with long hair, na to be on the same stage with Celine Dion.”
He further added that he will be giving the younger singer a chance to sing with Celine Dion. But, if Celine would still choose him, he’d be very grateful.
He also shared her experience with Celine Dion, and who she is in person. “Gusto ko ma-experience nila ‘yung kabaitan niya bilang isang tao.”
“Hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yung gesture niya sa akin, ‘yun ang gusto kong iparating sa kanya,” he added. “Yes, nag-duet kami pero hinding-hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yung trato niya sa akin. Parang hindi ako ibang tao talaga, ‘yun talaga ang hindi ko makakalimutan.”
