Kapamilya star Angel Locsin seems to be taking her role as a superheroine in the upcoming Star Cinema film “Darna” seriously.
The actress originally played the Mars Ravelo-created character back in 2005, but is set to star in the latest project directed by critically-acclaimed director Erik Matti.
Locsin, who considers the movie project as the biggest in Philippine history, has been doing preparations for the movie since last year. As early as July 2014, Locsin has started doing major workout routines similar to fighters’ in order to lose weight and adjust her body.
In an interview with Kris Aquino in “Kris TV”, the actress said: “Mabilis talagang pumayat ang tao kapag kailangan talaga, ‘yung walang choice talaga.”
She added: “Sa September pa magi-start yung training pero ngayon nagi-start na ako (para di mabigla). Kasi may tama ako sa likod I have cracked disc mild lang naman.”
Among the workouts the sexy actress is doing are Muay Thai, Core Fit and Fight Form. Her boyfriend Luis Manzano even joins her in some of her training sessions.
