Ogie Alcasid thinks JK Labajo’s cursing act will boost his popularity

  • Ogie Alcasid understood JK Labajo despite the actions that he made during the Rakrakan Festival 2019.
  • After the issue, Labajo will still reign in the music industry and get more audience, according to Alcasid.
  • Ogie thought that the ‘cursing’ won’t downgrade the young rock singer’s image since the latter creates good music.

The singer-songwriter-actor-comedian Ogie Alcasid shared his opinion regarding the controversial incident where JK Labajo flared up and cursed onstage during a rock music festival on March 1.

He has pointed out that this issue won’t negatively affect the young rock singer and in fact, it would even gain him popularity.

As the president of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), Alcasid expressed his understanding to Labajo.

Though in his opinion, what JK did was not right, he still feels for the singer for he is still young and is yet to know more of things. He also said that mistakes come and the blame can’t all be given to Labajo because the Netizen also intentionally pushed the young artist to his limits.

“You know, I feel for JK, he’s a young guy, you know, when you’re overwhelmed with your emotions… Sayang, sana, hindi nangyari ’yun, but I feel for him. I mean, come on, who doesn’t make mistakes, ’di ba? I mean, eh, siyempre, inaatat din ’yun ng tao, ’di ba?”

Though Alcasid does not personally know JK, he still believed that he is a great artist and that is why he is not that bothered by JK’s actions.

“I don’t know him personally, but I love his music.”

Despite the hate comments that Netizens have been posting regarding the issue, Ogie as a veteran artist in the music industry gave the young singer a piece of advice to continue on his music career.

“Sasabihin ko sa kanya, ‘pare, cool ka lang, ganu’n talaga ’yun, eh. ’Wag kang papaapekto, tutal, mas maraming nagmamahal sa ’yo kesa hindi. I’m sure, gusto ka rin naman ng fan na ’yun, nang-aatat lang.’ O baka nakainom ’yung fan.”

Ogie Alcasid will star on Kuya Wes a former entry to the 2018 Cinemalaya Festival and directed by James Mayor will be hitting the cinemas for a nationwide release beginning March 13.

The movie is about a remittance center worker named Wes (Alcasid) who finds happiness in the monthly visits of a woman named Erika (Ina Raymundo), who collects remittances from her partner who is working in abroad.
