Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was honest on Wednesday (March 20) about how she broke her precious Mikimoto crown, during her homecoming parade in the Philippines.
On the verified Miss Universe Twitter account, Gray explained how her pearl-encrusted Mikimoto crown broke, “Guys, I have a confession, the Mikimoto has seen better days as a result of my dancing. I’m so sorry.”

She also showed one of the feathers of her crown.
The apologetic Gray said she was carried away by the festive music during the parade. “One of the things I love most about the parade is they’d have this moving parade. A moving band, they have drums and it makes me want to dance, so (I) end up dancing although I am not a very good dancer.”

Gray was interacting with fans who lined the streets of Cubao, Quezon City last February 24 when a portion of the crown fell. Luckily, she was able to catch it with her arm and then handed the piece to Miss Universe Organization manager Esther Swan, who looked mortified.
