Liza Soberano is no longer ‘Darna’
Liza Soberano’s finger injury, which was from an accident in ‘Bagani’ last year, didn’t heal and has become a problem for her training and stunts for the movie. Soberano said the bones on her right index finger were crushed, and she has undergone surgery twice already. Soberano also said she ultimately decided to withdraw because she didn’t want the film to be compromised.
Liza will also be undergoing surgery next month.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN and Star Cinema said they “understand Liza’s condition, respect her decision, and wish her well on her recovery.” They also said that preparations for the ‘Darna’ movie will continue, and that they have started the selection process for the new actress who will take on the iconic role.
The shocking announcement received different reactions from fellow celebrities and netizens. Some we’re sad that Soberano is going through while others suggested some celebrities to be the replacement.
