  • Jimmy Bondoc took to Facebook to express his wish for a TV network’s “extinction”
  • After Jimmy Bondoc’s rant against ABS-CBN, celebs show support for the Kapamilya Network

Jimmy Bondoc gained notoriety after he made it known that he was looking forward to a television network shutting down and the very real possibility that thousands of people were going to lose their jobs. Since then, the public and some celebrities have rallied to support ABS-CBN—the subject of Bondoc’s attacks—on various social media platforms.

Kapamilya reporter Adrian Ayalin decided to break down Bondoc’s argument in his own Facebook post. On Monday, May 27, Ayalin took to social media and shared how generous the country’s biggest television company—ABS-CBN—has been towards him and his fellow employees.

He said in a Facebook post: “ABS-CBN is a generous employer. Aside from salaries and bonuses, pag may kalamidad like nung Ondoy, automatic may Calamity assistance kami noon.”

The said reporter also reiterated that ABS-CBN really values their employees who are committed to work. He added: “Boss Gabby answers email. When I left the company for a job in [the] US Embassy, I emailed him and thanked him for everything, including the Ondoy assistance.

“And he replied to my email after a few minutes and told me I can return anytime I want.”

After giving these anecdotes about his Kapamilya journey, Ayalin turned his attention to Bondoc’s post, addressing the accusations raised by the latter.

“Sexual favors sa kumpanya para umangat? Nah. It happens siguro just like any other company but definitely ABS-CBN values meritocracy.

“Siguro nala-laos yung iba dyan lalo na kung hindi ka naman talaga magaling na singer. Well, minsan may isolated cases siguro hindi meritocracy ang umiiral, but then again we do not claim to be a perfect company,” throwing shade on Bondoc’s stagnant music career.

“I hope everyone understands that like what Kapitan (nickname of the late Eugenio Lopez Jr.) said, we in ABS- CBN will always be in the service of the Filipino.”

The posts were made days after Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin defended the media network after Jimmy Bondoc’s rant.
