- Maine Mendoza admits that the greatest challenge she has faced was auditioning for Eat Bulaga
- She even admits that she didn’t prepare for the auditions
After making her debut on noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’ four years ago, Maine Mendoza has steadily become one of the most popular celebrities on TV today. But reaching the success that she has now wasn’t easy.
In fact, Maine confessed that auditioning for ‘Eat Bulaga’ was one of the toughest moments in her life.
At the Vivo V15 limited-edition Blossom Pink launch where she was introduced as Vivo’s newest ambassador, Maine shared that she was really not prepared to audition for ‘Eat Bulaga’ years ago.
“Nag-isip ako ng mga challenging moments sa buhay ko pero ang naisip dito sa tanong na ‘to nung audition ko for ‘Eat Bulaga!’ four years ago.”
The actress even shared that she came unprepared for the audition, unlike the other auditionees.
“Yung audition ko for Bulaga four years ago. May mga kasabay akong nag-audition no’n tapos sila parang super ready with their song and dance performances. ‘Yung iba may mga gitara tapos ako parang hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko.”
That was also the time when Maine was known for her funny Dubsmash videos on social media. She used this as her strength in the audition.
“Nung tinanong nila ako kung ano gagawin ko, kung ano kaya kong gawin since ayon ‘yung mga time ng Dubsmash videos, parang sinabi ko nalang ‘magpapanget’,
The actress was told to act funny because of her “magpapanget” talent.
“So ang pinagawa sa akin dun, pinag-act ako dun na baliw. That’s far from their expectations na kakanta, sasayaw, tutula, so ayun ang ginawa ko at feeling ko naman na-achieve ko dahil nandito ko ngayon.”
The uniqueness of Maine Mendoza’s talent has carried her through to the successful career she has today.
Currently, Maine stars in ‘Daddy’s Gurl’ every Saturday after ‘Pepito Manoloto’ on GMA Network.
