Marian Rivera who donned the fins and shell brassiere of the mermaid character in 2008 said, “Si Anne, mabait siyang kaibigan. Sobrang bait niyan sa akin. Kasi sa Instagram, makikita niyo na nagpapalitan kami ng mga message namin sa isa’t-isa.”
She also added that Anne is very fit for the part and there’s nothing wrong with her doing the much-coveted mermaid role. She said, “Wala akong nakikitang masama na, alam mo ‘yun, maging Dyesebel si Anne,” Rivera said. “Dahil Anne is very beautiful, napaka-lovable ni Anne, at bagay siya bilang Dyesebel.”
Marian herself played the Filipino mermaid role back in 2008 in GMA Network’s adaptation of the graphic novel. ABS-CBN’s version of “Dyesebel” starring Anne is set to premiere on March 17.
