The “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of It’s Showtime became comical when the show instantly turned into Vice Ganda’s “cult” accompanied with a “praise” song that trended on Twitter last Monday, June 24, 2019.
After she delivered her chosen piece titled “Dahil Sa’Yo” by Pilita Corales, Charlene Mae Fiel of Davao City was asked to formulate an impromptu song for the host and expectant mom Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, resulting in heartwarming and emotional lyrics that wowed the hosts and the “madlang people.” Given the title “Ikaw ang bagong dumating sa buhay ko,” the song is about love and gratefulness of a mother.

The contender from Mindanao was also asked to make one for Vice Ganda, this time drawing from his “beauty” Titled “You’re so beautiful,” the song unexpectedly turned into “words of worship”, and as Vice Ganda took over the song with his lines “Ate Vice,” the other hosts and TNT judges sang along.
“Ako na ang sasagip sa mundo,” the comedian host joked and requested the crowd to stand and sing along to the looping lyrics.
With their hands swaying up high, Vice Ganda approached some of the audience members and made hilarious remarks that made the whole studio roar with laughter.
“Sabay-sabay, pati mga taga-GMA at mga taga-TV5!” Vice Ganda quipped.
Anne Curtis, the comedienne’s co-host, also joked that the song can be used as his campaign jingle for the next presidential election.

“May pang-kampanya ka na teh,” Anne quipped referring to Vice Ganda’s recent statement on the same show about running in the next presidential elections after President Rodrigo Duterte. This, after President Duterte’s refusal to renew the franchise of ABS-CBN Network that will terminate on March 20, 2020 due to his issues with the network.
“Ay, naku, may balak ako. Antayin niyo ako, President agad,” Vice stated.
“Sabi ni Digong [President Duterte] sa akin, ‘Pagkatapos ko, ikaw magiging Presidente. Ako bahala,’” the comedienne added but later on said that his statement was a joke.
The “Ate Vice” moment created a buzz and trended on Twitter on the same day. Not only that, the #AteVice also landed a spot on trending topics worldwide.
