- Director of Prima Donnas Gina Alajar shared how the lead stars of the upcoming series cry with the help of a lubricant

- With the help of a lubricant, the young actresses can now cry even with the lenses on.
Actress and director of the upcoming family drama series Prima Donnas Gina Alajar, happily shared how the young female stars of the aforementioned series were able to cry with the use of a lubricant.
During the press conference of Prima Donnas, the director revealed that the Kapuso young stars—Jillian Ward, Sofia Pablo, and Elijah Alejo—have poor eyesight and wear eyeglasses to improve their vision.
The director-actress said, “Madali silang umiyak. Ang problema sa kanila, tatlo sa kanila, malabo ang mata—si Elijah, si Jillian at si Sofia. As in, ang nakikita lang nila, wala, kapag ganito kalapit. ”
Meanwhile, she also revealed the struggle that they had for the taping to move forward. According to her, the three actresses have to remove their eyeglasses when they are taping for a dramatic scene for them to be able to cry neatly. The only problem is that, once their glasses are removed, they see nothing but a blank wall.
“Actually, isang kembot lang, meron nang luha, kaya lang tinatanggal nila yung salamin nila. Kapag tinatanggal na yung salamin nila, wala silang nakikita, as in blank wall ‘yan.”
Alajar suggested that the young artists wear contact lenses. However, just like the glasses, Sofia, Jillian, and Elijah have to remove their contacts since it blocks the tears they need for scenes.
Alajar recalled a moment where she scolded Elijah because she couldn’t cry with the contact lenses on.

“Napagalitan ko si Elijah, e, kasi sabi niya, ‘Sandali lang ho, sandali lang ho, hindi ako makaiyak.’ ‘Bakit hindi ka makaiyak?’ ‘Kasi ho, naka-contacts ho ako.’ Sabi ko, ‘Hindi. Ngayon, umiyak ka na!’ Tapos, tinatanggal [ang contact lens]at saka iiyak.”
Aside from this, the director also recalled the times where they have to cut before the crying scene to give the stars the time to remove their lenses. This routine went on until Prima Donnas cast member Chanda Romero, who also wears contact lenses, shared a tip on using lubricant.
She stated, “Meron silang inilalagay ngayon na lubricant para hindi matuyo yung mga mata nila and, boy, si Jillian, ngayon, nakakaiyak na with contact lenses at talagang dire-diretsong iyak.”
