Student-made documentary “Silang Walang Daan,” which won 2nd place in “Class Project Intercollegiate Mini Documentary Competition Year 2,” is ready to move and amaze viewers nationwide tomorrow (October 25) as it premieres on ABS-CBN.

Produced by students from Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna’s (LPU Laguna), “Silang Walang Daan” discussed the struggles of residents in a small remote town, who travel along muddy roads every time they have to go to the city proper. Viewers can catch it after “Bandila,” which is the same timeslot reserved for ABS-CBN current affairs programs and documentary series like the award-winning “Local Legends,” which will return on air Fridays starting November 1.

The Kapamilya network first gave the spotlight to the documentary “Pasan,” made by students from the University of the Philippines-Diliman (UP) on October 18. “Pasan,” the champion of “Class Project Year 2,” follows a Catholic gay man who portrays Jesus Christ during Lent, going as far as having himself crucified. “Pasan” and “Silang Walang Daan” were awarded together with eight other finalists at the Pinoy Media Congress Year 13 organized by ABS-CBN and the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) last March.

A project of ABS-CBN, PACE, and Knowledge Channel, “Class Project” aims to encourage students from schools with faculty that are members of PACE to submit relevant mini-documentaries on the lives of Filipinos that communicate values of social justice, passion to serve, commitment to holistic learning, integrity, and nationalism. The Top 10 entries are awarded cash prizes, aired on Knowledge Channel, and made available online via iWant.

This year, “Class Project” enters its third cycle and will accept entries until November 29, 2019, while the awarding will happen at the “Pinoy Media Congress Year 14” in 2020. For more information on the rules, mechanics, and prizes for “Class Project: Intercollegiate Mini-Documentary Competition,” visit www.pinoymediacongress.com and the Facebook page of Pinoy Media Congress (https://www.facebook.com/abscbnpmc/). Inquiries can also be sent to [email protected].

“Pasan” and “Silang Walang Daan” are also available for streaming via iWant. For updates, follow ABS-CBN PR on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter or visit abs-cbn.com/newsroom for updates.
