Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose shares why locked-in filming is good for actors

At the press conference for the upcoming Viva Films, The Housemaid, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose shared the benefits of locked-in filming for actors.

Firstly, she noted her similar pre-pandemic experience in filming with award-winning director Brillante Mendoza wherein they have a similar filming process to locked-in filming.

“I’m used to doing movies like this. Di nga lang locked in pero parang locked in na rin. Cause with Brillante, pag gumagawa ka ng pelikula sa kanya kailangan yun lang ang gagawin mo. For two weeks. Pack up, uwi, balik, pack-up, uwi, balik in two weeks,” said Jaclyn.

She then added that locked-in filming helps actors to focus on their roles. Jaclyn also shared that she refrains from using her phone during locked-in filming and reminds her family to only contact her in case of emergencies.

“So mas nakakapagfocus ka tsaka you’re there. Sakin it works ng ganon. Medyo di ka naguguluhan actually yung phone naka-off yan. Di ko binubuksan pag ganong klase ng pelikula. Tapos sinasabihan ko na lahat ng relatives at anak ko na mag-ingat. Binibilin ko na. Cause pag emergency lang dun lang ako pwedeng… get in touch with you,” said Jaclyn.

Jaclyn stars in the Filipino adaptation of the Korean drama suspense thriller, The Housemaid. The original South Korean film directed and produced by Kim Ki-young premiered in 1960. Then, it had a remake back in 2010 for the Cannes Film Festival.

Alongside Jaclyn, the film also stars Albert Martinez, Alma Moreno, and Kylie Verzosa. The production team aims to start filming by October 25, 2020, following safety protocols and guidelines.
