Is Coco Martin thinking of running in the 2022 elections?

From showbiz to politics? Is this the path that Kapamilya actor Coco Martin is heading to?

In an article by Cristy Fermin on Phistar.com, the veteran columnist said that it’s almost a done deal for Coco to run for an elective position in the 2022 election.

According to her source, no amount of advice from his close friends can make the actor back out as he’s already determined to push through with his political plans.

Fermin also added that those who are trying to convince Coco not to run are outnumbered by those pushing him to continue. The veteran columnist even named Senator Lito Lapid as one of those pushing Coco to plunge into the world of politics.

Prior to Lapid’s return to Senate, he co-starred with Coco in the ABS-CBN’s [still the] longest-running teleserye, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. Many even associated his win with his role in the top-rating teleserye.

However, Fermin cautioned Martin of the possible attacks he will get once he really pursues with his plan to enter politics.

According to her, Coco should brace from all kinds of attacks against him from his possible opponents since he already touched some nerves at the height of the ABS-CBN franchise denial.

Coco’s background in showbiz could also be used to discredit him in eyeing for an elective position.

Meanwhile, Coco has yet to confirm if he’s really bound to cross over to the world of politics. But if ever that he’s really into it, it could also mean the end of his long-running teleserye.

Can he afford to make the final curtain call for the top-rating teleserye?
