Seasoned host Luis Manzano shared that before his stint as ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Quest’s host, he first got an offer to host its rival show StarStruck on GMA Network.
In a YouTube vlog released on June 1, Manzano, joined by his wife Jessy Mendiola and best friend Alex Gonzaga for a game called ‘Who knows me better?’
The game’s mechanics is simple, he will ask Mendiola and Gonzaga questions about him, and in turn, the two will race to give the correct answer.
The said game revealed his close relationship with his wife and his best friend, as the two always get the right answer.
Halfway through the vlog, he asked them about his first TV show – which is MYX. Then, he shared a trivia that the hosting job for StarStruck was offered to him first.
“Trivia, alam n’yo ba dapat ako maghu-host ng StarStruck?
“Girlfriend ko noong time na ‘yun ay si Nancy Castiglione.”
Castiglione eventually became the host of StarStruck’s first season with Dingdong Dantes as co-host, while Manzano pursued hosting Star Circle Quest.
In the same vlog, he also shared interesting facts about him.
He admitted that he has a big fear of going to the dentist so when he has dental procedures, he needs to be sedated first.
“‘Di ba usually injection lang na anesthesia? Ako kumukuha talaga ako ng doctor and nakaswero. Kailangan ako i-knockout.”
Also, he shared that one of the most embarrassing moments in his life happened during his ASAP hosting.
“Ang nasabi ko is ‘magbabalik ang A-S-O-P – SOP ‘yun yung katapat ng ASAP.”
He also quipped he was embarrassed when he attended the debut of Gonzaga and upon seeing him, the latter asked “Bakit ka andito?”
Luis then named his girl best friends, which included Jessy and Alex, then said that the vlog is a tribute to them.
His wife also added that he cares for Gonzaga even though he is a big bully to the latter.
“Gaganyan-ganyan ka lang pero mahal mo si Cathy [Gonzaga’s real name].
“Si Cathy ang isa sa mga friends mo talaga na kapag may nangyari, nandoon ka. Ikaw ‘yung unang pupunta talaga.”
In the end, Jessy, as expected, won the game and as a punishment, Alex had to drink vinegar.
Manzano and Mendiola recently announced that they tied the knot, also through a YouTube vlog released in April.
