Which Pinoy film won Big during the 47th MMFF Gabi ng Parangal?

On December 27, the 47th Metro Manila Film Festival commenced its annual awards night, MMFF Gabi ng Parangal.

Despite the challenges faced in 2021, the Metro Manila Film Festival 2021 pushed on and returned to cinemas. 

As part of the long-standing tradition, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the MMFF jury awarded various recognition to the eight entries participating in the yearly Filipino Film festival.

It seems like it is a big night for Jun Robles Lana’s a Big Night because the movie bagged multiple awards during the event. They won Best Musical Score, Best Cinematography, Gender Sensitivity Award, Best Actor in a Supporting Role with John Arcilla, Best Actor in A Leading Role with Christian Bables, Best Director, and Best Picture.

Here is the list of winners for the 47th Metro Manila Film Festival:

Best Float- Huwag Kang Lalabas

Best Sound- Albert Michael Idioma (A Hard Day)

Best Musical Score- Teresa Barrozo (Big Night!)

Best Original Theme Song- Umulan Man o Umaraw by Direk Louie Ignacio (Huling Ulan sa Tag-araw)

Best Visual Effects- Mofac Creative Works, Hue Media Quantum Post, Ogietiglao (Kun Maupay Man It Panahon)

Best Production Design- Juan Manuel Alcazaren (Kun Maupay Man It Panahon)

Best Editing- Lawrence Fajardo (A Hard Day)

Best Cinematography- Carlo Canlas Mendoza (Big Night!)

Gender Sensitivity Award- Big Night!

MMFF Creator Jury’s Choice Award FB Creator’s Exhibit-Pio Balbuena (Kandado)

Natatanging Gawad MMFF – Charidman Danny Lim and Dr. Bienvenido Lumbera

Marichu Vera-Perez Maceda Memorial Award- Rosa Rosal

Best Screenplay- Jun Robles Lana (Big Night!)

Best Actor in a Supporting Role- John Arcilla (Big Night!)

Best Actress in a Supporting Role- Rans Rifol (Kun Maupay Man It Panahon)

Best Actor in A Leading Role- Christian Bables (Big Night!)

Best Actress in A Leading Role- Charo Santos-Concio (Kun Maupay Man It Panahon)

Jury Prize Award- Daniel Padilla (Kun Maupay Man It Panahon)

Best Director- Jun Robles Lana (Big Night!)

3rd Best Picture- A Hard Day

2nd Best Picture- Kun Maupay Man It Panahon

Best Picture- Big Night!

The MMFF 2021 opened on December 25, Christmas Day, and remains in cinemas until January 7, 2022. 

In 2020, The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) opted to hold the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) via streaming platforms.
