Angelica Buenaventura, the newest talent of BLVCK Entertainment, has an interesting life story that she shared on Wednesday, July 13.
A former car show model, Buenaventura, came from a wealthy family/ But in life, it does not always mean “sitting pretty at the top.”
She revealed in an interview how her life went into shambles following her grandparents’ death, paired with her parents’ separation.
“Parang ‘yung daddy ko, lumaki siya sa wealthy family. So ‘yung time na nawala ang parents niya and nawala ang asawa niya, parang hindi niya alam ang gagawin niya. So lahat nang pera na mayroon kami, nilagay niya sa gambling, sa friends, sa bisyo. Dumating rin po sa time na naghirap kami, bigla kaming naghirap.”
The social media personality admitted she was not used to living a poor life, having been accustomed to the life money can bring.
“Ako hindi po ako sanay kasi siyempre mayroon kaming mga katulong, magara ang buhay namin, nakatira kami sa malaking bahay, tapos ‘yung parang old rich.”
She even experienced having to eat rice and soy sauce, let alone eating only once a day.
“Then dumating po sa time na naglalakad din ako ng sobrang layo papuntang school,” she said. “Umabot sa time na nangungutang din kami sa tindahan to eat.”
At age 14, Buenaventura worked as a service crew in a mall, earning P200 per day despite her father being able to support them once again.
“Nung time na rin naman na iyon, hindi na kasalanan ng family ko. Kasi that time, mayroon nang trabaho ang dad ko.
“Tapos kasalanan ko na po iyon kasi parang hindi ko rin kaya na umasa talaga sa magulang ko.”
The social media star began her modeling career after accompanying a friend to a club where a car show promoter discovered her. She then appeared in TV5’s Lunch Out Loud segment “Pera-Usog,” having a short hosting stint at the show.
BLVCK Entertainment contacted her, and now, she signed with the talent agency as one of their artists.
