In an October 19 press release, the production team of Start-Up Philippines denied rumors that their Pinoy adaptation would be cut short.
A party was held on October 18 for the Kapuso cast and crew to celebrate the final taping day for Start-Up and Bea Alonzo’s 35th birthday, which was on October 17.
The production team confirmed that they recently finished taping the series, which prompted their celebration.
In contrast to the rumors, The producer of the original Korean series Start Up, Yu Sang-won, was impressed with GMA Network’s execution of the Philippine adaptation of the beloved K-Drama.
“We were pleasantly surprised at how well the Philippine version of Start-Up was produced. It was impressive… How GMA Entertainment Group put in efforts to satisfy both the original fans and the local audience.”
Sang-won also praised the cast, including Bea Alonzo, Alden Richards, Yasmien Kurdi, and Jeric Gonzales, for their performance in the Philippine adaptation of the famous K-Drama.
“This goes the same with the cast… The overall look and feel and the cinematography of the local version were similar to that of the original version so that Filipino fans will feel familiar, yet the local production team creatively devised/adapted the story to meet the expectations of the local audience.
Sang-won added, “Alden Richards and Bea Alonzo added their own charm to the characters.”
