On November 5, in The Iron Heart press conference, actor-model Jake Cuenca professed his gratitude to work with Richard Gutierrez after 21 years.
“I’m just very grateful to be part of the show. Sobrang nakakatuwa kasi last time na nagkatrabaho kami ni Richard was 21 years ago. For me, it’s a reunion project,”
Cuenca also noted that he’s happy to work with new faces as well.
“At the same time, first ko rin kasi sa Star Creatives. Ako po ay excited at masaya na napasama ako sa show na ito.”
The actor also mentioned the challenge of maintaining the “gwapo” aura despite doing action scenes.
“Pagdating sa Star Creatives. ‘Pag dating sa shots, sa coverage. Even sa action scenes, kailangan talaga gwapo. Maganda pa rin lahat. And that’s a challenge. Kasi syempre kapag nag-fifight kayo, may intensity. You have to make faces… Bawal pawisan dito,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez shared that it’s been a fun experience to be part of the upcoming action-drama.
“We tried to be a collaborative team. Nagbabatuhan kami ng ideas. It’s for the best of the show. Magaan ‘yung pakiramdam bilang artist dito sa The Iron Heart,” said Gutierrez.
In 1999, Cuenca and Gutierrez first worked in GMA Network’s Click—a youth-oriented show and the successor of T.G.I.S.
Other than the two actors, Click became a star launcher for the likes of Angel Locsin, Alessandra de Rossi, Chynna Ortaleza, Roxanne Barcelo, Angelika dela Cruz, and Valerie Concepcion, among others.
The Iron Heart is coming on November 14 on ABS-CBN.
