ABS-CBN news anchor Karen Davila answers speculation that she and Korina Sanchez are being ‘plastic’ to each other.
To recall, Sanchez interviewed Davila in her YouTube show “Korina Interviews” on October 30. This was the first time that the two worked on-screen.
Netizens then claimed that the two news anchors are being ‘plastic’ with each other.
In a report by Balita on November 27, Davila admitted that she and Sanchez were initially not friends even though they are both under ABS-CBN.
But she said that her conversation with Sanchez still went smoothly.
“In social media they would say, ang pa-plastik niyo, ‘di ba… ang fake n’yo… But you know, I’d like to say from the bottom of my heart that interview with Korina was really in God’s good and perfect time.
“Yes, Korina and I… Ayaw ko namang magpakaplastik, we were not friends. We didn’t have the opportunity in ABS-CBN to sit together, to talk with each other. And for whatever reason it was, we were both busy, the competition is too much. ABS was a very competitive environment. And I think everybody who would see this would know that, right?
“But to me, to meet Korina when she came to the house. I would already see Korina in Socials because we have the same set of friends, but really napakagaan. Bakit ganon? Because it is in God’s perfect time.”
Meanwhile, Korina Sanchez had also shut down netizens who claimed that she was being fake in her interaction with Davila.
Sanchez replied to a netizen who called both her and Davila “plastikada,” or fake.
“Hindi. You’re not only misinformed, you’re miserable (laughing face and thumbs down emoji).”
There is a rumored rivalry between Korina Sanchez and Karen Davila especially after the latter replaced Sanchez as an anchor in TV Patrol. Sanchez explained that it was a decision of the network’s management, and she had no personal animosity toward Davila.
