On June 15, Kapamilya artist Kaila Estrada expressed excitement for her role in the upcoming ABS-CBN series, ‘Linlang.’
At the launch of ‘Proud To Be,’ Converse’s 2023 Pride collection, Estrada detailed her upcoming Kapamilya project with fellow ABS-CBN stars.
“Linlang is coming up–yes, with Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, JM De Guzman, and, of course, Tita Maricel Soriano, Heaven Peralejo, [and] Miss Rubi Rubi and so, so many more. I’m so excited for it to come out. It’s going to come out. Hopefully, at the end of the year. So I hope abangan lahat ng tao.”
She admitted feeling nervous working with Kapamilya heavyweights in the upcoming series.
“Siyempre, noong una kinakabahan ako, kasi sabi ko, grabe napaka-intimidating ng cast. It’s such a powerful cast to be a part of, and I’m just really grateful to have been a part of it and to work with them.”
She also highlighted how much she learned from her co-stars and from the makers of the show.
“I learned so much, not just from the cast like Kim Chiu, Paulo, JM, Miss Maricel, Miss Rubi, but I learned so much from the directors as well, Direk FM Reyes and Direk Jojo Saguin.
“So, I’m really excited for it to come out and I hope that suportahan ninyo lahat ng cast kasi maganda talaga ‘yung show.”
She described her character in ‘Linlang’ as her most mature role to date.
“This [character] is my most mature role to date. So, I’m going to play Sylvia Lualhati, which is JM’s character’s wife. So ‘yun ‘yung role ko.”
As for the #ProudToBe collection, Converse gathered personalities to represent the diversity of the queer community in the country.
These personalities and icons include Angelo Ramirez de Cartagena, DJ Kate Jagdon, Content Creator Shainna Gayle de Castro, Kush, Fifth Solomon, Brigiding, Fuschia Anne Ravena, and Antonio Stevens.
The #ProudtoBe collection features Converse products designed by LGBTQIA+ employees and allies at Converse. The collection includes the Run Star Legacy CX, Chuck 70 De Luxe Heel, Chuck 70 Plus, Chuck 70, Chuck Taylor All-Star Lift, and Chuck Taylor All-Star, as well as an assortment of apparel.
Each shoe features interlinked silhouettes of the Progress Pride flag stitched into each pair’s tongue. The collection also highlights adornments and embellishments, such as Pride laces weaving through the Run Star Legacy CX, rainbow outsoles anchoring the Chuck 70 Plus, or the chunky glitter upper on the recently introduced Chuck 70 De Luxe Heel.
In addition, the shoe brand also paid attention to the feedback from the community about offering a range of sizing options. The Converse Proud To Be Collection is available via Converse Philippines Official Site and Converse stores nationwide.
