Fans are still debating on who among the Kapamilya actresses should play the role of Darna.
At the blogcon for ABS-CBN primetime series “A Love to Last”, Iza Calzado described the actress who could play the iconic character.
“And Darna has to be perfect. She has to be like an Angel Locsin and an Anjanette Abayari,” said Iza.
She then revealed that GMA Network tapped her in 2005 to play the role of Darna but it was given to Angel Locsin due to her body’s ‘imperfections.’
Iza also admitted that she was “hurt in the beginning” but accepted it eventually.
She stressed, “It’s not for me. It never was. There are other things for me and I accepted that.”
The 34-year-old was later found her stardom in her role of Amihan, an iconic character of GMA’s fantaserye “Encantadia”. Still, a win-win situation for Iza.
In her interview with “The Bottomline With Boy Abunda”, Iza confessed that she went through operation in effort to ‘fit’ for the role of Darna.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN has yet to announce the name of the actress to portray Darna.
