Veteran singer and actress Vina Morales has confirmed her breakup with non-showbiz boyfriend Andrew Kovalcin, signaling the end of their nearly one-year relationship.
Morales made the revelation during a media interview on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
“Wala na kami. I’m back to being single, ready to mingle,” Morales shared candidly. The actress added that she no longer prioritizes having a relationship and is now at peace with her single status. “Hindi ko na masyado pinu-push yung love life. Hindi na siya priority,” she added, noting that she used to feel lonely when she was single, but now sees things differently.
Morales first went public with her relationship with Kovalcin in late 2023 after years of being single. The couple’s romance had a serendipitous backstory, having first met 22 years ago during one of Morales’ concerts in Hawaii. They briefly reconnected during another concert in the U.S. but lost contact for years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kovalcin’s persistent messages on social media caught Morales’ attention, reigniting their connection.
Morales expressed gratitude for Kovalcin’s efforts to stay in touch, and the two eventually rekindled their relationship when they met again during one of her U.S. tours in 2023. Their relationship became public when Morales posted a video of them together in Washington, D.C., followed by photos from their dinner dates.
Despite their attempts to make the relationship work, Morales has now decided to move on, focusing on her career and personal growth. She did not disclose the specific reasons for the breakup but emphasized that love life is no longer her priority.
