Cambodian superstar rapper VannDa is set to release a trilogy of mini-albums entitled TREYVISAI (Khmer for “The Compass”), with the first installment dropping on March 14th!
TREYVISAI I: The Search for Light introduces high-energy flex tracks like “Out of My Mind”, “Me, My Flow, and I”, and “Fishing” which have already emerged as fan favorites during the exclusive listening party experience in Aeon 3 Main Hall in Phnom Penh on January 24th and 25th. This mini-album sets a triumphant, celebratory tone while hinting at the deeper themes to be explored in subsequent releases.
The lead track “Smoke Up” features a collaboration with Thai rap icon YOUNGOHM marking a significant moment in Southeast Asian Hip-hop—showcasing the synergy between two of Southeast Asia’s biggest rap icons, blending their unique styles over VannDa’s signature production.
YOUNGOHM expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “When VannDa reached out, it felt like the perfect fit. I’ve followed his career and really respect what he’s built. ‘Smoke Up’ was a natural collaboration, and I’m excited for our fans in Thailand, Cambodia, and beyond to experience it.”
VannDa echoed this sentiment, saying, “I have a lot of respect for YoungOhm—he’s a versatile artist who can do so many things, just like me. When we hung out, I felt a kindred spirit. I hope this collaboration shows the world what Southeast Asia can bring to music. This is a step in the right direction for my career and for the region.”
