Samsung, together with RUNRIO, took the step for sustainability with over 16,000 runners across the Philippines in celebration of Earth Day with the highly anticipated Galaxy Earth Day Run 2025, supported by Tzu Chi Foundation.
Participants ran across scenic routes around the country, going around Manila’s most iconic landmarks by the bay, the refreshing views of Cebu City’s coastline at City Di Mare, and to the lush green pathways of Davao City’s Azuela Cove. Runners were reminded of the importance of environmental protection, especially when it comes to preserving the country’s beloved natural wonders.
Joining the festivities was Miss Universe 2018 and green advocate Catriona Gray as she continued her mission of making a difference for Mother Earth.
“I’m truly glad that we’ve all come together for this year’s Galaxy Earth Day Run 2025. This run is more than a celebration of our fitness goals—it’s a powerful reminder to make time for something great; caring for our planet. This run not only helped us reach our personal goals and achievements, but we have also taken meaningful steps toward a more sustainable, safe, and livable Earth for everyone, ” she shared.

With this year’s theme, ‘Run with Purpose’, Samsung brings to life the company’s commitment to health and wellness and sustainability. The nationwide run implemented waste reduction strategies, with optimized water distribution to reduce plastic bottle usage and utilizing eco-friendly materials for event collaterals. The support from Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines further reinforced this commitment, leading waste management and recycling efforts during and even after the run.
