He might be one of the most handsome actors in the Philippines; but this time, majority of his fans agree that Alden Richards was the worst dressed celebrity at the MEGA Millennial Ball, a yearly fashion event by MEGA magazine, at the City of Dreams Manila. It was evident when Aldenatics and AlDub Nation joined forces together to criticize the stylist of Pambansang Bae through GMA’s Artist Center’s Instagram account.
According to The StyleList, Inc., Alden’s outfit at the event was a custom modern take by designer Joey Samson on classic men’s shirting with hand embroidered Ilocano literature back detail. They added that the “Eat Bulaga” had also wearing a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes.
For Alden, his outfit at the ball was the perfect definition of “less is more.” It seems quite true when his outfit got so much more criticisms from fans than compliments.
Netizens were irked by the photo of Alden posted by Inside Showbiz on Instagram. For example, one fan under handler @juddttorres commented that The StyleList, Inc. made Alden look so bad and undesirable. He also added that the total ensemble was wrong in so many levels.
Another netizen under @leonisasauda said that Alden’s outfit looked untidy. But thanks to his fair complexion and handsome face, Alden still pulled-off with his outfit.
On the other hand, @elviepadua stressed that Alden’s dress should be brought back to the tailor shop. She also believes that a modern classic shirt is inappropriate for a formal event, especially when it has ‘un-stitched’ seam or hemming. She added that the outfit did not look elegant on Alden, plus the style was ragged and jagged. She also quipped that Alden could wear it in the barangay.
Some netizen also claimed that Tisoy looked like he was attending a christening while some other said that Alden resembled a teacher, a driver, a governor, and even a priest.
Moreover, some fans suggested to fire Alden’s stylist as he became a fashion victim that night compared to Kapamilya stars that graced the event with the glamorous outfits.
