Kapuso actor Jeric Gonzales walked the red carpet alone at the GMA Gala 2025 held on August 2 at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City, marking a noticeable change from last year’s event, where he attended with then-girlfriend Rabiya Mateo.
According to reports, the former couple have been separated for around six months, with Rabiya reportedly deciding to end the relationship. The breakup, while making headlines, did not come as a surprise to many, as their romance had been known for its on-and-off nature.
Rabiya previously stated that she is focusing on her career and saving up to build two houses, while Jeric’s career has appeared to be moving at a slower pace in recent months.
The actor was previously linked to a controversy involving rumors of a gay benefactor—an issue that even reached GMA Network’s attention—but the matter has since quieted down.
Back in April, Jeric avoided discussing the breakup during a press conference for his movie, merely smiling when asked about his single status.
“Hindi rin daw nagsasalita si Rabiya kaya ayaw niya itong pangunahan,” he explained at the time.
Their relationship, often marked by passionate highs and rocky lows, has led some observers to question its long-term stability. With their frequent breakups and reconciliations, others have described the romance as potentially toxic.
