Former ‘StarStruck’ Avenger Alvin Aragon is facing intense backlash online following controversial statements he made about the transgender identity of his stepdaughter, Sofia Trazona, during a guest appearance on ‘Jigo Live’ hosted by Jigo Postolero on DWAR 1494 Abante Radyo.

During the interview, Aragon spoke about criticism directed at his wife, former SexBomb Girls member Izzy Trazona, over Sofia’s transition. He reiterated his religious stance, saying homosexuality goes against Biblical teachings.
“E, totoo naman, e. Ano bang sabi sa Bible? God judged homosexuality. Read Genesis 17:18 and 19 — ‘those men in Sodom and Gomorrah want to have sex with other men, and God judged Sodom and Gomorrah,’” Aragon said.
He added, “God will throw you to hell if you continue to do homosexuality. Mamuhay ka, and you don’t want to believe in Jesus? I assure you that God will throw you to hell if you don’t stop, repent, and believe in the gospel.”
His remarks quickly drew criticism from members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies, many of whom described his comments as judgmental and harmful. Several netizens expressed disappointment, while others defended Aragon, saying his statements were based on his faith.
Nasa bible yan. Hnd yan gawa gawa lang.”
The issue resurfaced discussions about Aragon’s relationship with Sofia, whose biological father is Michael Navarro. Sofia has previously spoken publicly about her journey as a trans woman and the dynamics within her family.
Amid the controversy, Izzy earlier shared screenshots of a recent exchange between her and Sofia, indicating that despite not seeing each other often, they continue to communicate. Sofia wrote to her mother, “I’m so happy and proud of you! Inspite of everything you still sticked to what you know is right. Naiiyak lang ako na nakita ko na nasa concert ka with your friends.”
Izzy replied, “Salamat, anak. By His strength always. I miss you! Continue to be strong. Praying for you always. Mag-ingat ka palagi. I love you.”
Sofia responded, “I miss you super! Pinagpi-pray kita palagi. I love you too!”
In the same radio interview, Aragon also denied speculation that he was the reason Izzy left the SexBomb Girls years ago.
“Sinasabi nila, ‘Kaya pala wala sa SexBomb si Izzy dahil sa lalaking yan, e.’ Teka lang, ha! Matagal nang wala si Izzy sa SexBomb, 2009 pa lang. Hindi pa nga ako yung asawa, e,” he said.
“Sino ang nagpa-resign kay Izzy sa SexBomb? Ang Panginoon, noong naging Christian si Izzy. Pinag-resign ng Lord.”
As of writing, neither Aragon nor Sofia has issued a new statement addressing the backlash.
