Actor Gerald Anderson revealed that he is choosing to stay single for now as he focuses on becoming a better version of himself.
During his guest appearance on the show ‘Stars on Stars’ alongside his ‘Blood vs. Duty’ co-star Baron Geisler, Gerald opened up about why he prefers to prioritize self-growth instead of entering another relationship.
When asked by Baron if he plans to focus on himself now that he is single, Gerald answered: “Plan on focusing on myself? Yeah. That’s all I’ve been doing.”
He went on to explain that his decision to remain single is intentional because he wants to improve different aspects of his life.
“‘Yun lang naman ‘yung dahilan kung bakit din ako single. That’s the only reason I’m single now because you know I want to become a better partner, a better person, a better son, a better brother, a better provider. Magagawa ko ‘yan if I focus on myself muna.”
According to Gerald, his current focus has allowed him to pursue various ventures beyond acting, including business, producing, and directing.
“I’m building the life I want in five years. I want to be that kind of person –– I want to be the best version… I have to start now so focus muna ako sa sarili ko,” he added.
The actor also shared that he is preparing for the future and the kind of life he eventually wants to have, including building his own family someday.
Gerald’s last publicly known relationship was with actress Julia Barretto.
The two started dating in 2019 and remained together for several years before their breakup was officially confirmed in 2025 through a statement released by Star Magic, which described the separation as a mutual decision.
