Englishman Andy Murray wants to prove to his countrymen that his win at last year’s competition was no fluke while Maria Sharapova hopes to continue her win streak of winning another grand slam this year at the biggest tennis Grand Slam of the year, the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.
Fox Sports Philippines will bring the exclusive coverage of tennis action from London starting on June 23 at 6:30pm.
Top-seed Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are some of the names that Murray has to hurdle in order to get to the title match. Murray finally broke the 77-year wait for a British to win the prestigious tournament. Federer meanwhile is looking to add another Grand Slam and possibly his eighth Wimbledon title. Nadal on the other hand is looking to at least surpass at least the third round on the grass court.
In the Ladies Singles, Serena Williams is looking to clinch another Grand Slam but Sharapova is considered the top challenger in the tournament. Williams is looking to overcome her dire 2014 season but other players ahead of her like Simona Halep and Li Na might prove to be too much for her.
The 2014 Wimbledon broadcast starts this Monday, June 23 at 6:30pm with the preliminary rounds. Quarterfinals action begin on July 1 and the Finals culminating on June July 5 & 6.
